File Management is an integral part of the QUEST Software.

Physical Files and other physical media comprise a large portion of the records you require to conduct your business. Every day, the information you create is accessed by your staff and by external organizations. If you cannot retrieve that information in a timely manner, it can be very costly, financially as well as in terms of perception.

The File Management function provides you with the functionality needed to track all the items that make a complete file:

  • File Folders & File Backs (Volumes)

  • Accordion Files (Supplemental items)

  • Other media types such as diskettes, maps, manuals (Supplemental items)

  • Individual Hard Copy Documents; such as Correspondence/Incoming Mail

Included with the QUEST systems are:

  • Templates for repetitive data entry

  • The ability to custom the Add screen to enter only the information you require

  • The ability to automatically create a keyword index for the file

And Context sensitive help assists you in each step of the file creation process.

You can also

  • Bring Forward any parts of a File (i.e the File itself, Volumes of information within the File, Supplemental items or Correspondence).

  • Create Files for individual Departments, Branches or Offices within your organization (Structure Levels).

  • Charge Out/In/Waitlist or Transfer any of the items

  • Assign Location codes to each individual File Folder or File Back

  • Assign Storage/Box indicators for those files moved to storage

  • View the Disposition status of an item according to the Files retention schedule

  • Print labels for items as they are automatically tagged for label printing when they are created or changed
