We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Over the holidays one of our staff enjoyed the arrival of a new baby, another was planning for an upcoming wedding and of course we all got time for a bit of relaxing. Now with fiscal year end quickly approaching, we wanted to let you know about all the new things happening with QRMS.
Year 2000 Compliance is a subject that is foremost in all offices. The QRMS Records Management Software is year 2000 compliant and the following is a statement of the QRMS certification of year 2000 readiness/compliance:
Both Version 4.0 and Version 6.0 of QRMS are Y2K compliant in terms of the specific QRMS functions. E.g. the culling process and retention life cycle process etc. will function correctly. Version 6.0 has specific Y2K "data entry assist" logic incorporated and has undergone exhaustive Y2K testing and we are satisfied the code is Y2K compliant. Version 4.0 has not been specifically Y2K tested but our basic test scenarios undertaken during the initial testing of the product included processes that spanned over the year 2000.
Version 6.0 is written in Inprise Delphi which is certified Y2K compliant. Version 4.0 is written in Computer Associates Clipper 5.0 and we have not asked for and therefore have not received any specific assurances that Clipper 5.0 is Y2K compliant. As you are no doubt aware, if there are any Y2K problems with any PC based application they will probably be caused by either MS DOS (in the case of V4.0) and/or non Y2K compliant older hardware (which could effect either V4.0 or V6.0). Due to these factors, and although we have every confidence in the programmed functions, we are unable to certify that V4.0 is Y2K compliant on every possible system.
We can however certify that V6.0 is Y2K compliant subject to any hardware problem and/or inappropriate operator intervention. QRMS warrants that Version 6.0 of the QRMS Records Management Software will process, calculate, compare and sort without error all date information from, into and between December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000, and date representation will be accurate into the future including leap year calculations.
Please note however, that under the terms of your License Agreement with us, QRMS cannot accept any responsibility or liability for any loss of data and/or business interruption caused by the operation of any QRMS software.

Effective immediately, all support will now be offered via e-mail or fax.
This new method of offering support will allow us to ensure a quicker response time for our clients. Please see the opposite page of this newsletter for a Support Request Form

As of April 1st, 1999, the cost of a one-year Maintenance Agreement will be increased to 20% of the current list price of the software.
Renew your Maintenance Agreement before March 31st, 1999 and you can continue to receive the benefits of a one-year maintenance agreement at the 1998/99 rate of 10% of the current list price. This opportunity is available even if your Maintenance Agreement does not expire March 31st, 1999 (for example; if you renew at the 1998/99 rate before March 31st, 1999 but your Maintenance Agreement doesn't expire until September 1999, you will have renewed for one year ending September 2000).
